I have really wanted to like this app. The idea is great: combine nostalgia with seemingly-futuristic AR tech. Its so solid that Google used it as an improbable premise for a prank advertisement.
Unfortunately, it seems that we are not ready for the future. The app crashes often, and at the least-convenient times. Ive had Pokémon, items, and my time disappear thanks to the consistent stream of problems.
Still, that wasnt enough motivation for me to write a negative review. I could always close my eyes and hope that the next update really would make things better. (it still has not)
What pushed me over the edge was the way that I have been treated by their customer service department. I have had tickets go unanswered, but still have feedback questionnaires delivered to me asking me to rate the service of the ticket. I have had reps write passive-aggressive responses to my tickets.
Treating me this way was bad enough; however, I do not seem to be an outlier. They have treated my father poorly. Friends have shared their horror stories with me. The poor Customer Service has become a way of bonding with strangers for me.
All in all, the app needs work, and their Customer Service department members either all need to find a different outlet for their own frustrations.
