I played for one hour tonight and took notes: game crashed 6 times and I lost 40% battery life... to put it in perspective, that is 1 crash every 10 minutes, and 1% battery loss every 67 seconds. I was not switching between apps or receiving/sending any messages, this is Pokémon Go all by itself. Additionally, upon opening the game, Pokémon will appear for a second and immediately disappear (similar to the speed lock) and then they will come back again after 30 seconds to a minute, then this same pattern repeats itself after interacting with stops/gyms/Pokémon, as well as it happening randomly. I find myself constantly stopping and waiting instead of just having a normal stroll. All of this is just scratching the surface. The raids are great, but frustrating. My friend and I can take on a level 3 raid boss, just the two of us, but can only make it half way through a level 4? Im level 33 and he is 36. At max trainer level, you should be able to take on a 5 star boss by yourself. And what happens when people lose interest again? Well never have a chance at a 4 or 5 star boss, ever? Also, give us the option to turn off raid notifications, please. I get it, raids are happening, I can already see it on the map and youre just slowing down the game and annoying me. As a long time Pokémon fan, this game does not hesitate to disappoint every chance it gets. The CP system is ridiculous; my Raichu in the Nintendo games can take out the Elite Four by itself, but in this game, it can barely face a single Pokémon, regardless of type advantage. Not to mention the hesitation Im sure everyone feels when faced with a Pokémon they like enough to power up, that you can either invest 150,000 stardust (equivalent to 15,000 captures, mind you) to max it out, or wait until you get a similar one with a higher CP, or potentially invest all that stardust just to have the CP change (usually down) for gym restructure. Stardust should be returned to you if you blend a Pokémon you powered up. The reason Pokémon is so cherished is because you bonded with your Pokémon, you spent time with them, training them, leveling them up, going through everything together. With this game, you catch something marginally better (moveset, IV, CP) and the weaker one gets blended without a second thought. I hate that you have no control over movesets, you have 2 moves instead of 4, and one of them has to be powered up in order to use it. Also, that you get no strategic moves, like Sand Attack or Thunder Wave. In fact, if the gym battles were set up more like the Nintendo games (turn based especially) it would eliminate all the glitches everyone gets where a Pokémon faints, comes back, faints again, or a move is powered up, then not; but it would also help the phone not get so hot and the battery draining so quickly. If I were Nintendo or GameFreak (whoever allowed Niantic to ruin the franchise so spectacularly) I would have fired Niantic before the new year. They are raking in billions of dollars and their customer service still takes 3 months to respond to emails? Really? You need to hire some customer service reps. You also need to hire a whole lot more programmers/coders; you wouldnt be 6 months behind in development if you invested some of that money back into the game. Also, you need a Pokémon expert to make sure you dont make anymore stupid mistakes like all male Pikachu/all female Raichu early on in the game. Ill be happy to take that position on. Two stars because Pokémon. My rating for Niantic alone would be zero. Release legendaries, but disallow them from entering gyms. Same solution works for Smeargle and Delibird (like they would be strong enough to take/hold a gym anyways). Stop taking from your consumers, learn to fix issues by giving better alternatives instead.

Seriously I love this game but, I tried battling a gym leader and it wouldnt open up. Id get to select my Pokemon and then it just froze. Finally I gave up and walked home only it crashed and no matter how many times I tried to reopen it to get it to load properly it wouldnt. I love this game! I really do, but please fix the bugs. Also can you guys make the range on pokestops and gyms a little more forgiving especially since the GPS always says Im somewhere where Im not. I will be less than 2 feet away from a gym but for some reason it has me placed a block and a half away. So please up the range for the gyms and stops...

Could be an awesome game. But in addition to the game design flaws the app is crashing all the time. Extremely frustrating during arena fights.

I love the raide battles. This game is pretty Awesome. ??But when I was going super slow by a poke stop it said "TRY AGAIN LATER" please fix this.?????? overall this game in good ?

The game is still full of game breaking bugs after a year. Even when working it is a bad game that has survived solely due to the Pokemon brand.

A fun game but my one complaint has to deal with gym battles. When you successfully defeat a gym Pokémon your player should level up AND the Pokémon battling should gain some Combat Power. Otherwise theres no practical reason or function for battling.

I really wonder how is it possible, to update app for a long time and remain all bugs at their places. Even on the most powerful smartphones it lags as something weird. Maybe authors should explain to their audience few not obvious moments? Or — just fix it?

My friend and i are still in enjoying pokémon go!! The updates are always great! Were happy that a park nearby us is a really good pokémon spawned after every update!! Happy 1 year!!

Waited one year to do this to give a honest review. Amazing game me and my little ones love it and love exploring. Tracker is awesome. Raids are super fun and so are gyms! If I had to suggest improvements I say if they could implement trading and battling of players that be awesome. Im ok with not battling the wild Pokémon but I see pluses in that too Wish there was a easier way to get regional Pokémon for those not wealthy enough to travel the world. Wish also sometimes there was more ways to earn coins than beating gyms. Maybe watch a ad or complete some tasks for a day Its so hard to get those coins sometimes because Gym battles take awhile Wish we could stock up on raid passes if ever a day goes where u dont see a raid. Or maybe just to busy Lastly really love them to remove the speed cap I get the safety aspect I really do but when you have little stops near you and you must drive a good while to even get near some stops removing the speed cap help a lot of us get those items we need . If to hard to do for phone users maybe allow poke watch people only to be able to idk Either way love this game and even though I caught almost them all I still love playing it and adventuring!! Looking forward what may come soon!!!

Anyone at Niantic care that the app crashes 3-5 times a day if you play often? Its sad really. Updating this on 7/9/17. I think the crashing is getting worse ?

I think they should add videos to get free coins, but only like 5 pokecoins a week.

Pokemon go is a fantastic game! The gameplay is highly addictive and fun! But the overworld needs some improvement. I liked it when the overworld had rustling grass/leaves to indicate where a Pokémon might spawn. Why did it get removed? It was a fantastic feature and I want it back!

My mom has it and I think it is so amazing. You rock Pokémon go, cause I love you and Im exited to join level 2. I think that they are super duper. My favorite is Eevie cause shes cute. I love her evolutions and I wanted to tell you not to listen to the people that call the app garbage. Secret message: eht ppa tnsi egabrag.

Fix it. Its beyond unfair. I live in a rural area deep out in the country, so turnover rates for gyms arent terribly high. There was a gym that was on a backroad that my boyfriend and I held for SIXTEEN days. Today, the gym was finally taken over by another team. Tell me why we only got 50 coins, despite holding that particular gym for over half a month. Thats beyond unfair, and makes holding gyms longer for a day pointless. The other day I had two other Pokemon I had in other gyms return me. One was in my area (not on the backroad but closeby), and the other was when I went into the city and took over the gym during a 4th of July festival. I still only got 50 coins, and should have at least got 100 (even tho I had both of those gyms for 2 days and in reality it should be 200). If yall are going to put a 50 coin limit cap (which is still a rip off), at least make it 50 coins PER day and PER gym. Not 50 coins overall for everything. I wanted to get the anniversary box that I would have been able to obtain for holding that gym for 16 days if we werent being jipped, and Im not fixing to spend real money on this game considering I have a big vacation coming up soon. The payout is just bogus and my only complaint about the game. The bugs i can deal with. This used to be 5 stars, but now its 3 after realizing i only got 50 coins for a sixteen day gym hold. Also stop making pokestops on private property. There is a Pokestop on someones property around here, and noticed it was a Pikachu wearing Ashs hat at that Pokestop. You bet I trespassed to get it, and it was very scary. But thats not my main complain. Gym payout is.

Dont contact them if its a known issue. If its a dang known issue for YEARS!!!! Im going to feel the need to contact niantic!!!! The gps has been crap crap crap. I have 4GLTE, I have all location and gps enabled and set to high. I am standing AT a gym and battling only to be kicked out of the battle and told to get closer to the gym. I was sitting AT the gym! The merry go round is a big friggin object that spins around it circles. It doesnt get the heck up and move all the way over to the frigging movie theater!!!! Fix The GPS!!!! End of story!! They broke the gyms by adding onto them, I love the raids but they shouldnt have made them attached to he gym if they didnt know what they were doing. I cant sound the gym stop once Ive defeated a raid, and you cant take over gyms when there are bosses there. Another issue with gyms is location location location. I bought a new house, live in a new neighborhood, they put the only gym within a 15 mile radius to my house, in a gated community. How fair is it that the only people who can occupy that gym are those that live inside the gates. Plus we should get 50 gold every day we occupy a gym, I stayed at a gym for almost a week and only got 50g when I got kicked out. I occupy multiple gyms, and only get 50g for one pokemon kicked out on that day. Its crap. Plain and simple. Ive spent too much money to quit and Im ticked that my whole family has to raid and battle and run around downtown just to see any pokestops or gyms OR pokemon. There arent any around our house, it shows them but they never pop up. Just fix your game, people spend money on this. If your current staff cant fix it hen clean house and hire smarter people.

Impossible to defeat a Gyms Snorlax, where it would drop to 0 CP & get kicked out of the gym. The game just gives it infinite HP instead, making it impossible to take over any Gyms that have a Snorlax in them. Chances are this may be the case with other Pokemon and/or Gyms.

Pokémon Go is a great app but Im experiencing a few problems. Infact a lot! Sometimes when you try to catch a Pokémon it runs away just in 1 try. For example I throw it to pidgey right in the middle but it come out of the ball and runs away. Thats happening to all the Pokémon. And then the stops. I literally drive all the way to the stops and it says "sorry please try again later". I spent 15 minutes of my time and thats what I get? Sometimes when Im just about to capture an awesome Pokémon it crashes me out of the app. Like wth????. Anyways I dont recommend getting this app. If you want to waste your valuable time go ahead but this is a total rip off it would take you a century to get to level 10. And it goes to like a hundred.
