This game has improved greatly since it was first introduced. Ive been on and off with playing it every few months and I really appreciate how it gets me moving out and about. It keeps me entertained.
I really like the new motivation system idea rather than the lowest CP Pokémon getting kicked out. I also like the ability to restore the motivation with berries, though having a default berry set other than a razzberry would be nice. I tend to use razzberries a lot and I always worry I might use them mistakenly.
The raid battles are nice, but, since Im one to usually go solo, more than three minutes would be nice to complete the challenge.
I dont like how after you complete a raid battle, you cant access the gym until the raid battle time has passed, so you cant get any bonuses (making the gyms into pokéstops was an excellent idea as well) help any Pokémon, nor place your own Pokémon in the gym.
It would also be nice if getting a "Nice", "Great", or "Excellent" throw increased chances of capture along with the XP obtained after if caught.
Perhaps the berries could also provide more assistance? There have been many times where I had attempted capture with berries and then the attempt without a berry had caught the Pokémon.
There are some Pokémon that are very difficult to capture, with or without a berry. Bayleef after a raid battle is an example: even with a golden razzberry (a nice reward by the way) the capture was very difficult.
After a raid battle, I do like the idea of having a limited amount of pokeballs correlating with effort and other bonuses during the battle, but the type of pokeball should not be so weak if youre handling difficult-to-capture Pokémon with a limited amount of pokeballs.
It may just be a coincidence, but I believe there might be a cap on how many coins a Pokémon can bring back after being knocked from a gym. Two of my Pokémon, one being in a gym for around 2-3 days and the other only in for a little less then 1, brought home 50 coins each. I understand that profits are made from people purchasing coins, but that doesnt mean there should be a limit on how many coins a Pokémon can bring home. If they only bring home a limited amount after some time, its a goal to have it knocked out and put back in. If a Pokémon only receives 50 coins for a days work, maybe after the day, there could be a couple coins received every hour after that? Maybe depending on how many times the Pokémon has successfully defended the gym or how many battles it won while in the gym?
There could potentially be a gradual decrease in how many coins a Pokémon gains over time. Perhaps 3-4 coins every hour or two on the first and second day, then 2-3 every hour or two on the third and fourth, 1-2 coins every hour on the fifth and sixth, and 1 every hour every day after that?
I do like the change from the 20 coins every 21 hours to a constant increase over time.
Something that might help would be decreasing the value of coins, but increasing the amount. Things would cost more coins, but youd also receive a lot more for purchasing or defending a gym.
I had also thought about the idea of a guarantee for the pokeballs, like a normal pokeballs would have a much higher chance to catch a Pokémon below 100 CP, a great ball would have a higher chance for a Pokémon below 300 CP, and an ultra ball would have a higher chance for Pokémon below 500 CP.
An overall capture rate increase as you level up would also be helpful, due to the fact that the Pokémon lack HP to lower and you cant inflict status conditions; you only have the berries to work with.
Something that may also work well would be including other types of pokeballs (if that isnt already planned). Things like Quick balls or Repeat balls would help a lot for troublesome Pokémon that you want to catch. A master ball may be overkill, but as a serious reward, perhaps for a streak of streaks at a pokestop or gym or something?
Maybe something like items occasionally popping up when youre out wandering around, something showing up in the nearby section and a rating of a pokeball, great ball, or ultra ball with how good the item is, maybe a pokeball holding a single item, possibly a normal pokeball, a potion, or a berry and then escalating from there, with the better pokeballs holding more, better items.
The game is great, but, as with anything, there can always be improvements made and there will always be people who want something different. Take my review as a suggestion and not an issue.
