Update wont work

A lot of issues were tackled with one of the previous updates (like GPS, game freezing, logging in), but now the app wont even update or open. I love Pokémon, but this is getting ridiculous.

**to add to the complications, the drop rate of special items needed to evolve certain Pokémon is extremely low. Ive heard you have to visit a poke stop everyday, but for those who cannot do that are out of luck.
