Latest update buggy and crashes constantly

The latest update has many problems and crashes constantly: (1) crashes when attempting to catch Pokémon and(2) crashes during gym battles, and earned points are lost entirely; (3) the GPS-related functions are unreliable and frequently prevent playing altogether; (4) Pokestops you are standing on top of say often they are too far away; (5) Pokémon frequently appear and then disappear almost instantly with an error before you can even try to catch them, (6) the UI frequently hangs and prevents play altogether for long periods of time, and a forced quit may or may not restore functionality. (7) New to this release is that attempting to enter nearby gyms causes the app to crash every time, making it impossible to battle.

Hopefully a future update will fix these issues, but in the meantime Ive largely given up and stopped playing to avoid frustration.
